YOUR RIGHTS AT MACQUARIE

Representation at meetings
Over the last few months, many staff across Macquarie have been asked to attend meetings to discuss performance with their supervisors, audit and other issues. The rights a staff member has if required to attend any meeting with management are outlined below.
  • You have the right to know what the topic will be, and at least some of the details (including obtaining copies of documentation) PRIOR to attending the meeting.
  • You have the right to invite a support person with you to the meeting, whether it be a union delegate or member, colleague, or trusted friend.
  • You have the right to discuss having support with your direct supervisor.
  • You have the right to defer your response until you have had a chance to digest the information or issues presented. (10 days in the case of alleged misconduct)
Don’t go it alone, assert your rights to representation and information, and contact the CPSU branch committee members if you need further assistance. Please pass on this information to your colleagues.
